Both can be a form of art; one through viticulture, the other through motion. One can be the reward for the other: a relaxing glass of wine being the prize for a good effort on the road. The historical challenges of running a good race and creating a good wine are well documented.
Ultimately, what links these two topics of interest can be expressed with one word: Passion. Passion for our running and passion for the grape.
Where these two passions intersect one can find beauty: both in the natural settings of a vineyard and the glorious magnificence of human motion. Both wine and running are expressions of life: and an appreciation for the fermented grape can be, in fact, a way of celebrating our lives, and living them to the top.
