How do you want others to think
of you? Should their impression of you
be that you are pompous and arrogant because of your accomplishments, or would
you rather that they respect you and treat you with both honor and
dignity? How others see you is dependent
on how you behave with pride. Your
license to be proud does not include an excuse to be an elitist. Classism is insipid.
We can appreciate that there will always be
those among us who have more, and less….but from a million light years away,
this little blue bubble in space seems profoundly insignificant…and from that
perspective the creatures seen crawling upon its surface are equal in
importance both to God and the grand expanse of all creation.
We should be proud of we are,
and act as a positive examples for others: but at the same time remain wary of
vanity – because while we are certainly worthy of having pride in our actions
and through our running: “we’re not all
that, and a bag of chips”.
